Centre Grants ₹2,355 Crore to Uttarakhand Under ‘Pride of Hills’ Scheme

Dehradun: The Central Government has sanctioned ₹2,355.54 crore to Uttarakhand under the Pride of Hills initiative and Centrally Sponsored Schemes through the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) programme.

The package includes ₹2,283.60 crore as a 50-year interest-free loan under the Pride of Hills scheme, helping the state manage debt repayments and free up resources for development projects. Another ₹71.94 crore has been approved as the state`s share for Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said the Centre has released a total of ₹2,355.54 crore to Uttarakhand under the scheme in the current financial year 2026-27. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for the support, saying it will strengthen the state`s development efforts.
