NABARD Marks 45 Years of Rural Development in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: NABARD`s Uttarakhand Regional Office celebrated its 45th Foundation Day in Dehradun with a panel discussion on strengthening rural credit flow and honoured organisations and individuals for their contributions to agriculture, cooperatives, SHGs, FPOs, and rural development.

Chief guest Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Uttarakhand`s Cooperation Minister, praised NABARD`s contribution to rural development, strengthening cooperative banking, improving farmers` incomes through FPOs, and expanding banking services in remote areas.

NABARD Chief General Manager Pankaj Yadav said FY 2025-26 was the best-performing year for the Regional Office, with ₹5,061 crore in financial assistance provided across the state, nearly 19% higher than the previous year.

RBI Regional Director Harsh Kumar Gautam said NABARD is helping create rural livelihood opportunities and supporting local economic growth, which can help reduce migration from Uttarakhand`s hill regions.
