Pithoragarh: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun, organised a one-day ‘Vartalap’ media workshop in Pithoragarh on Saturday on the theme “12 Years of Service, Good Governance and Welfare of the Poor.”

Speaking at the event, PIB Dehradun Assistant Director Sanjeev Sundriyal said the initiative aims to enhance awareness of Central Government schemes and strengthen communication between the government, media and citizens.

Officials highlighted achievements and welfare programmes in healthcare, education, women empowerment, agriculture and youth development. Discussions also focused on improved connectivity, border area development, tourism growth and the success of schemes such as Lakhpati Didi.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session where journalists shared suggestions and discussed challenges related to reporting from border districts. Journalists from print, electronic and digital media participated in the programme.
