Dehradun: A national awareness programme will be held at Dev Sanskriti University, Haridwar, on June 26 to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and the conclusion of Nasha Mukt Bharat Week. The event is being jointly organized by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and All World Gayatri Pariwar.

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Dev Sanskriti University Vice Chancellor Dr. Chinmay Pandya are expected to attend the programme along with representatives from states, ministries, de-addiction centres, students, youth, and social organizations across the country.

During the event, two MoUs will be signed between the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and All World Gayatri Pariwar under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana. Nasha Mukti Mitras and other outstanding contributors will also be felicitated for their efforts in spreading awareness against substance abuse.
