Dehradun: The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate, Dehradun, celebrated GST Day 2026 at the IRDT Auditorium, marking nine years of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Held under the theme "Simplified Taxation, Empowered India," the event highlighted GST`s role in transparent taxation, ease of doing business, and cooperative federalism.

Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, IAS, described GST as a landmark reform that has fulfilled the vision of "One Nation, One Tax, One Market." He emphasized stronger cooperation between taxpayers and tax administrators.

CGST Commissioner Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey appreciated taxpayers for their voluntary compliance and the coordination between the Central and State GST administrations. During the programme, UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Roorkee), Nestlé India Ltd. (Rudrapur), and BHEL (Haridwar) were honoured for exemplary tax compliance and contribution to revenue generation. Outstanding departmental officers were also felicitated, followed by cultural performances.
