Dehradun: Uttarakhand is set to revive the much-awaited Himalayan Car Rally as part of its efforts to promote year-round tourism. Following directions from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Tourism Department has begun preparations for the event.

The rally, which will pass through snow-covered mountain roads and scenic Himalayan landscapes, is expected to attract adventure enthusiasts from across India and abroad. The initiative aims to strengthen Uttarakhand`s identity as a leading winter tourism destination.

The event is also expected to benefit local businesses, including hotels, homestays, restaurants, and transport services, while creating new employment opportunities for youth in hill regions.

The responsibility for organizing the rally has been entrusted to Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam. Officials believe the rally will enhance Uttarakhand’s global tourism profile and give a major boost to adventure and winter tourism in the state.
