In a distressing turn of events, the death toll due to disaster-related incidents in Uttarakhand has reached a grim milestone, with over 100 lives lost since June 15, as reported by officials on Friday.

The State Emergency Control Centre in Dehradun has documented a total of 101 fatalities attributed to disaster-related incidents from June 15 until the current date. Additionally, 50 individuals have sustained injuries during the same period.

Among the hardest-hit districts, Rudraprayag stands at the forefront, reporting a staggering 21 deaths. Uttarkashi follows closely with 13 reported fatalities, while Tehri Garhwal and Dehradun each recorded 10 tragic deaths, according to the official data.

The sorrowful tally continues with Udham Singh Nagar and Pauri, where nine lives were lost in each district. Chamoli reported eight casualties, while Pithoragarh and Haridwar each endured the loss of seven precious lives. Meanwhile, Nainital witnessed three fatalities, and Bageshwar and Champawat reported two deaths each.

The situation remains critical as Uttarakhand grapples with the aftermath of these devastating incidents. Authorities and rescue teams are working tirelessly to provide relief and support to the affected communities in the region.
